The Best Golf Courses On The Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands have more to offer than white sand beaches, exciting music, and great local cuisine. With a limited land area of just around 75 square miles, one of its best-kept secrets is its well-designed links that have attracted both professional and amateur golfers. The island’s limited space plus erratic Caribbean trade winds offer a unique challenge in any game. For a great round of tee amid a scenic landscape and oceanfront views, visit the following golf courses in the Cayman Islands.

Ritz Carlton Golf Club
The nine-hole course located at the Ritz Carlton Golf fairways front the 365 room resort along Seven Mile Beach. The Ritz Carlton links were designed by hall of famer Greg Norman. With its par 36 course, the layout flows with the saltwater lagoon and terrain obstacles that provide a unique challenge to players. Hole 4 with a par 3 over water obstacle poses one of the most difficult game aspects. For those who are not exclusively playing golf in their trip to the Cayman Islands, the Club rents out equipment for both left and right-handed players. You can even stay in a vacation rental right next to the golf course at The Residences Seven Mile Beach.

Britannia Golf Club
Designed by retired world-class professional golfer Jack Nicklaus, the Britannia Golf Club in Georgetown shows the level of design expertise of the golf legend. Nicklaus, who has designed hundreds of links all over the world, incorporated water and terrain challenges into the course. Technically a two in one course, it can be played as a regulation 9-hole or an 18-hole executive hole challenge.

North Sound Golf Club
The North Sound Golf Club has an 18-hole championship course, with 15 holes incorporated with water obstacles. The Club’s Par 71, 6605-yard course is chock full of challenges for the professional and novice golfer, including the lakeside Par 4, 405-yard course. North Sound’s famous Hole 11 offers the most challenging wind play but the most social-media worthy backdrop of the waterways. The Club’s additional amenities include a driving range and an onsite shop. They also regularly hold professional instruction sessions and clinics for junior golfers.
