Super Bowl FoodLast week, Kraft Foods put the United States in a frenzy when they announced that shoppers might have trouble finding Velveeta at the grocery store. The Velveeta shortage, which has been nicknamed the “Cheesepocalypse,” has Super Bowl party hosts wondering what dip they should serve their guests for the big game if they can’t find the liquid gold cheese. As the second largest day of food consumption in the United States, people are chowing down on a lot more than just cheese dips on Super Bowl Sunday though! Bizarre Bowling Lingo

BowlingEvery sport has a lingo players and fans use and it’s generally pretty easy to catch on to when you spend some time around it, at least for most sports. Bowling doesn’t seem to be one of those sports though. It seems like bowling has an endless amount of jargon which makes my head spin like a bowling ball! A lot of the terms make sense, but some of them are just too weird that I had to share!

First things first, I didn’t realize how many different ways the bowling pins could be left standing after the bowler’s first turn, known as a leave in bowling lingo, until I started learning what they were called. Here are a couple of the odd ones:

Hockey Fans Give A Big “Boo Hoo” to Football

BettmanThat’s right. A big “boo hoo” is what a lot of hockey fans gave to football when they heard about the NFL referee lockout. In case you don’t know, the NHL, or National Hockey League, is in a lockout right now and it’s unsure whether there will be a hockey season. Not surprisingly, a lot of fans are upset and are keeping their fingers crossed that things will work out.

The NFL referee lockout has spurred a lot of controversy. Replacement referees were called in and the games went on. However, this elicited a lot of media attention and complaints. The football fans still get their games while the hockey fans only hope they will. Some hockey fans think football fans need to stop complaining.
